Identify Assumptions and Create Explanations Policy Journal
Topic does not have to be climate change, it is just an example but it could be your topic if you’d like.
I attached my previous policy journal for a different topic below, for reference!
- Identify Assumptions: choose any area of public policy and identify an assumption that you have about this area or issue.
Check Data: decide on the kind of data you would need to verify or disprove the assumption above.
- Then find the data and record it. You must reconsider the assumption in light of the data!
- Create Explanations: try to explain why. Either explain why the assumption is valid or invalid, or explain why the assumption is believed even if invalid. You could even try to explain why the data is the way it is.
- Consider Action Steps: outline a personal and realistic action step that you could take in light of what you have learned.
