The idea behind revision is to create a polished piece of work. All writers have to revise their work at some point, and most writers have developed their own method for revision. Obert Skye is a children’s book writer who discusses why he considers revision to be such an important step. Please watch his Ted Talk below:

The Magic Of Revision | Obert Skye | TEDxIdahoFallsUser: n/a – Added: 4/29/16YouTube URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqK6-ePxPa8

For your initial post-

  • Describe in one paragraph your response to Skye’s Ted Talk. In what ways do you agree or disagree with him about revision? How did he change your views on revision?
  • In a second paragraph, consider what you plan to revise within your own essay. What do you think you need to revise in your essay? Why do you need to revise it? What is your plan for that revision?

Nurs-6052 Evidence-based practice Discussion post

I’m trying to study for my Nursing course and I need some help to understand this question.

March 21, 2010, was not EBP’s date of birth, but it may be the date the approach “grew up” and left home to take on the world.

When the Affordable Care Act was passed, it came with a requirement of empirical evidence. Research on EBP increased significantly. Application of EBP spread to allied health professions, education, healthcare technology, and more. Health organizations began to adopt and promote EBP.

In this Discussion, you will consider this adoption. You will examine healthcare organization websites and analyze to what extent these organizations use EBP.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Resources and reflect on the definition and goal of EBP.
  • Choose a professional healthcare organization’s website (e.g., a reimbursing body, an accredited body, or a national initiative).
  • Explore the website to determine where and to what extent EBP is evident.

Post a description of the healthcare organization website you reviewed. Describe where, if at all, EBP appears (e.g., the mission, vision, philosophy, and/or goals of the healthcare organization, or in other locations on the website). Then, explain whether this healthcare organization’s work is grounded in EBP and why or why not. Finally, explain whether the information you discovered on the healthcare organization’s website has changed your perception of the healthcare organization. Be specific and provide examples.

Thesis and Annotated Bibliography

I’m studying for my Literature class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?

For this assignment, you will submit your thesis and annotated bibliography for your Course Project on the assigned novel for your Module 03 written assignment: Haddon, M. (2003). The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Please use an APA formatted template.

Thesis:

The Thesis statement should be on page 2 of the document. A thesis statement will guide the paper, so be sure to write a thesis that states what areas you will be covering in the paper. For example, if you are going to discuss one or more themes of the novel, then those themes should be in the thesis statement. Perhaps you will be covering two or more elements of fiction (from your literary terms). Then those terms should be an integral part of the thesis.

Note: In the final version of your paper, the thesis statement is the last sentence of your introductory paragraph. However, for this week, you will only turn in the thesis statement and your annotated bibliography.

Annotated Bibliography:

Along with the thesis, you will submit the annotated bibliography that references and summarizes your research.

  • Include at least five sources.
  • Each annotation should be five+ sentences in length.
  • Each annotation should include facts, details, and a summary of the article.
  • Your last statement in the annotation should be written in first person and state why you chose the resource.

The annotated bibliography should begin on page 3 of this assignment. The Annotated Bibliography should be done in Noodlebib (again see our library resources tab). Please avoid .com sites, personal websites/blogs, and Wikipedia. If you use outside resources, make sure they are credible resources with .edu or .org or .gov, rather than .com.

Attached is a sample annotation for one entry. You will create 5 of these in a Word document. You may export them directly from Noodlebib onto your Word APA template once they are created in that program.

Filter bubble

Need help with my English question – I’m studying for my class.

Based on Pariser’s TED talk, El-Bermawy’s Wired article, and what you’ve seen as you use the internet yourself, what do you think of filter bubbles, or the increased personalization of search engines and websites? What are the benefits and drawbacks? Does one outweigh the other? Have you noticed (either before today or in reflection) that the filtered and biased information you receive makes it harder for you to see all sides of an issue? How do you see filter bubbles affecting our democracy as we move forward from the contentiousness of the most recent presidential election?

Also, consider the recent accusations by some politicians and political influencers that Google searches are “rigged” — in light of what you now know about filter bubbles, how might you respond to this?

Please post your intelligent and well-thought-out response. Then, please read and offer a substantial reply to at least two of your classmate’s responses. Your work for this forum is due by 11:59pm on Tuesday, January 21.
