Position Paper on HealthCare Issue – Written Assignment

2 pages

A position paper is a document you could present to a legislator to seek support for an issue (in healthcare) you endorse. Present your position on a current health-care issue in a one-two page paper, following the assignment guidelines below. You can select your issue topic from newspapers, national news magazine articles, professional journals, or professional association literature; and this can be the topic you choose for your ethical issues debate.

Your position paper should:

·         Be quickly and easily understood.

·         Be succinct and clear.

·         Appear very professional with the legislator’s name and title on top and your name and your credentials at the bottom.

·         Condense essential information in one, single-spaced page, excluding the title and reference list pages.

·         Be written using correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and APA format.

·         Clearly describe the issue that you are addressing in the opening paragraph.

·         Include 3–4 bullet points regarding why you are seeking the legislator’s vote, support, or opposition. Bullet points should be clear and concise but not repetitive and should reflect current literature that substantiates your position.

·         Summarize the implications for the nursing profession and/or patients.

·         Conclude with two recommendations that you wish to see happen related to your issue, such as a vote for or against, a change in policy, or the introduction of new legislation.

·         Use APA format (6th ed.), correct grammar, and references as appropriate.

The literature you cite must be from peer-reviewed journals and primary source information.

Social Scene Silliness

Although this content might not fit great with social influence it seems closely related enough that I thought I’d share.

If you’re looking for a distraction Improv Everywhere is great! They are group based in NYC that stages funny, socially engaging content in everyday locations. One of my favorite skits was done in a grocery store. Perhaps it’s because I’m a foodie, or maybe it’s my love of dancing, but here is a link (Links to an external site.).

Explore the site, if you have some time, and share your thoughts about it with us 🙂

What are the greatest challenges facing public health?

I don’t know how to handle this Health & Medical question and need guidance.

You are the Vice President, Government Affairs for the National Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (NACCHO), the national association that represents the county and city health officials and departments. Public health is a diverse enterprise facing many challenges and the NACCHO board would like to focus organizational efforts on what would produce the greatest return on investment.

In a 3-5 page critical analysis (not including title page and references), identify what you believe to be the greatest challenges facing public health. Possible topics to review include (and are not limited to):

· Reliable funding

· Non-communicable (chronic) disease

· Emerging infectious diseases (MERS, Measles, Ebola, Zika, Influenza)

· Risk reduction and safety

· Disease detection and medical intelligence

Explain why you believe this is an important issue. Support your explanation with scholarly references.

ECO 550 Week 9: Assignment 3: Long-Term Investment Decisions

Assume that the low-calorie frozen, microwavable food company from Assignments 1 and 2 wants to expand and has to make some long-term capital budgeting decisions. The company is currently facing increases in the costs of major ingredients.

Use the Internet and Strayer databases to research government policies and regulation.

Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

  1. Outline a plan that managers in the low-calorie, frozen microwaveable food company could follow in anticipation of raising prices when selecting pricing strategies for making their products response to a change in price less elastic. Provide a rationale for your response.
  2. Examine the major effects that government policies have on production and employment. Predict the potential effects that government policies could have on your company.
  3. Determine whether or not government regulation to ensure fairness in the low-calorie, frozen microwavable food industry is needed. Cite the major reasons for government involvement in a market economy. Provide two (2) examples of government involvement in a similar market economy to support your response.
  4. Examine the major complexities that would arise under expansion via capital projects. Propose key actions that the company could take in order to prevent or address these complexities.
  5. Suggest the substantive manner in which the company could create a convergence between the interests of stockholders and managers. Indicate the most likely impact to profitability of such a convergence. Provide two (2) examples of instances that support your response.
  6. Use at least five (5) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia does not qualify as an academic resource.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format.

Post a discussion about how you can apply the 20 mile march to your life, this class, and work. Also, relate it to one concept from Chapters 1-3 (just one concept, not one for each chapter).

I’m trying to learn for my Management class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

This is the first of your weekly video discussions. Your job is to watch the video then post a response to the video based on the question proposed in the assignment. You will not be able to see other students posts until after you have posted. Once you have posted, you will need to respond to two classmates about their response.

Discussion posts should relate the video to the subject matter BY REFERENCING YOUR TEXTBOOK and provide information, opinions or questions about that subject matter . A substantive initial post should be at 200-250 words. Where its appropriate, please support your assertions with outside sources.

Follow-up posts should be a minimum of 100 words and supported with outside sources where appropriate. Posts like “I agree” or “great post” will not receive credit. Follow-up posts should be designed to continue the conversation BY ADDING A THOUGHT FROM THE TEXTBOOK. A great way to do that is by asking questions for clarification or sharing an example.

Initial posts must be made by Thursday at midnight of each week. Two follow-up posts must be made by Sunday at midnight.

A high-quality Discussion posting should be clear, well-written, and free of typos or sentence fragments. One good way to help with spelling and grammar is to write your post(s) in Word, Google Docs, or another word processing app and then run a spelling and grammar check before copying and pasting it into Canvas.

All sources must be cited in proper APA format.

unit 4 Improving work relationships when working on a project

I’m studying for my Economics class and need an explanation.

The concept of working together to produce a better outcome is not a novel idea. Competition in a collaborative working context may encourage productivity and the realization that different people bring different skills and different levels of skills to the workplace. For example, doctors can gain perspectives about a patient based on discussions with other staff such as nurses and therapists. However, coworkers may have differences in opinion and perceptions that do not allow them to collaborate with others. It is not always necessary to have complete harmony in the workplace but a civil, working relationship will get the job done.

Please respond to the Discussion below. Your posts should be in the 100–150-word range and your responses in the 75–100-word range. Respond to at least two of your classmates with meaningful comments. Support from unit materials or outside research should be included. Check out the Discussion topic grading rubric in the Course Resources area for information about how you will earn your grade for the Discussion.

Imagine a situation where you are paired up with a coworker to complete a very important project for your company. The coworker does not share the same work ethic that you do, and you are concerned about working together toward successful completion of the project. It is not a job that you can handle on your own as there are a lot of specialty areas that this person knows well, and you know nothing about. Discuss at least three things you can do to improve your working relationship with this person so that you do not dread going to work every day and that will improve the work you produce as a team.
