Revisit the images you and your colleagues found to represent the curriculum development process (remember this was the Unit 2 Discussion). In almost every image, there was a process of evaluation and improvement of the program through the collection of data. Data is collected through a variety of sources. Referencing your Reading and other sources, identify and explain three different methods you will use to collect data in order to improve your program. Remember to have a variety of sources in order to get the most accurate information. Think outside the box here. You do not just want to use student grades or test scores to assess the program. What other things might give a picture of how the program is running?

Once you have identified the methods, write a descriptive paragraph explaining the process you will use.

Read your classmates’ posts, select one, open a conversation with your selected peer to develop answers to the following questions and post them to your Discussion:

  1. Explain the differences within the data collection processes for assessing a program that is campus based as compared to an online program.
  2. Identify and explain three online data sources that would support the assessment of an online program?
  3. How would you improve an entire online program based upon the data collected?

Probation before judgment means that although someone is found guilty, finding of guilty is taken back by the Court and the Defendant is not convicted. Actually, often first offender avoiding being convicted what is Convicted being a term meaning person found guilty with the judgment left standing. Basically, allows a Judge to essentially keep someone’s record clean.

Someone who gets a Probation Before Judgment, often called a PBJ, is placed on probation with that stricken guilty finding is hanging over their head for a period of time. The length of probation depends on the offense and can be up to 3 years in District Court or 5 years in Circuit Court. Once the Defendant successfully completes the probationary term, the PBJ remains on someone’s record until it is expunged. But, unlike a guilty finding, it can be expunged. During the probationary term of a PBJ, a Defendant is treated as any other probationer. They are told to do certain things, such as do not incur any additional criminal charges, and to not do certain things, like refrain from consuming alcohol. What a Defendant is told to do or not to do while on probation depends on the circumstances of the case. If someone who receives a PBJ does something they are not supposed to do or does not do something they were supposed to do, the Court can violate their probation after a hearing. If the Court decides to violate the probation, the PBJ can be stricken and the guilty finding put on someone’s record, and the Defendant can receive any sentence they could have received when originally sentenced.they are told to do certain things, such as do not incur any additional criminal charges, and to not do certain things, like refrain from consuming alcohol. Fines imposed as probation terms and conditions shall be within the amount prescribed by law for a violation resulting in conviction. If the court places the person on probation for driving under the influence, the court shall, as a condition of the probation, require the person to participate in a driver safety and awareness program and either an alcohol treatment program, or an alcohol-related educational program. If the defendant is not satisfied with the PBJ, then they would not be able to appeal their case if they accept the Pb. PBJ unsupervised” means that an individual is granted or given a probation before judgment (PBJ) and unsupervised means that the defendant is unsupervised or does not have to physically report in person to a probation office, during the period of probation. Scientific Journal

I’m studying for my Science class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?

You will write a short essay, 1-2 pages in length, detailing the parts of the scientific method discussed in your article and comparing that information to what was reported in the news story. Each entry will be written in a logical and professional manner using the APA template attached to the post.

The entire entry must be written IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Direct quotes of the articles are not allowed. However, when you summarize or paraphrase something from one of the articles you will need to provide an in-text APA reference.

The essay must be written entirely in third person. DO NOT USE FIRST OR SECOND PERSON. This means you cannot use the words “I”, “we”, or “you”.

ntroduction (1 paragraph)

This section identify which of the two articles was the scientific study and the subject of the scientific study. You will also identify the problem or observation that spurred the research. DO NOT LIST THE RESULTS OF THE STUDY ITSELF HERE. You will identify the hypothesis the scientists were testing. Remember that a hypothesis is a testable educated guess. Thus, it is not appropriate to pose a question here. However, while reading your articles, it can be helpful to ask yourself what explanation scientists tried to use to explain their initial observation. You will then transition into the body of the journal.

Body (~1 paragraph each)

Here, you will identify the test or experiment that was performed to address the hypothesis. You should be detailed here. It may be helpful to pull from other sources, if you do not fully understand how the experiment was conducted. After detailing how the experiment was done compared to how it reported in the media, you will transition into a discussion of the results.

In this section of your entry you will identify the experimental results that the scientists obtained. What did the scientists find after doing their experiment? Again, you can be detailed here. After detailing the results, you will transition into the conclusion sections.

The last paragraph of the body should explain the conclusion of the study. You should address whether the hypothesis was supported or rejected, and how the results led to that finding. Also provide a possible new avenue of research the scientists might pursue based on what was discovered in this study.

Evaluation (1 paragraph)

Here you will signal the end of your entry. In this section you will identify the new study about the scientific study and discuss whether or not the news story was a representative reporting of the scientific study. Did the news change anything or leave out something important from the scientific study? Summarize the important content from your entry, then you will end with a definitive final statement.

Constructing your journal entry

In addition to the criteria above, you will be graded on the quality of your writing; please write with proper grammar, punctuation, and style. The essay will be graded using the Dialogues of Learning Written Communication Rubric.

All sources (including the original 2 articles) should be properly documented. You must include an APA style reference page. Your TurnItIn score should be below 20 for this assignment.

Assignment #8 – The Gilded Age

I’m trying to study for my History course and I need some help to understand this question.

Assignment #8 – The Gilded Age

Step 1: Watch – “Something WallMart This Way Comes” online

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTbYOOSAoEI&feature=youtu.be

Step 2: Watch – “Is Wal-Mart Good for America?” online

Step 3: Read – “Robber Barons and Rebels,” from A People’s History

Step 4: Complete the Discussion Board

Discussion Prompt: For this discussion, I am going to have you watch first the South Park episode entitled, “Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes.” Much of this episode, while crude in many ways, actuallly is very similar to what Mark Twain was trying to get across to us in his book, The Gilded Age. These writers use sat- ire to get their points across. What point do you believe the writers of this South Park episode were trying to make with this story? How is it similar to the satire of Mark Twain? Many scholars and writers seem to believe we have found ourselves in a second Gilded Age today, and that the difference between the haves and the have-nots has actually become much worse today than it was 100 years ago. Many of your articles for today’s discussion touch on this. To further understand the situation, take a look at the database amassed by the AFL-CIO. It was designed specifically to help monitor CEO compensation year by year to see the trends that have garnered a 4300% pay increase for these top executives since the early 1980’s. (Oh, and by the way, if you missed it…the average worker’s salary during that same 30 year period only doubled.)
