Identify a good or service that you are familiar with and have utilized. It could be related to your work or perhaps a product that you are familiar with from home use. Research the current state of international trade for that product. Propose an additional country for international expansion. Present your recommendations with a PowerPoint presentation. The presentation should include the items listed below.

  • Compose a graph or pie chart that illustrates the current and recent historical status of trade between the domestic country and the country identified for international expansion. This should be an original graph, not one that is found and copied/pasted.
  • Explain the sources of comparative advantage for the domestic production versus the country identified for international expansion.
  • Compare the gains from specialization versus the potential for increasing opportunity costs when expanding production to serve the new country.

Your PowerPoint presentation must be at least 10 slides in length, not counting the title and reference slides, and it must include either an audio recording for each slide or speaker notes that detail the information located on each slide. You must use at least three academic resources in your presentation. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment. APA formatting, however, is not necessary.

300 word paper on behaviors discussed by Haidt

I don’t know how to handle this Sociology question and need guidance.

This week we explored ideas like truth and free speech. Haidt and Lukianoff discussed how, in an effort to create a better society, students are “trained…in thinking styles that will damage their careers and friendships along with their mental health.”

For your journal entry this week, discuss a situation at work, home, school, or while relaxing when you witnessed yourself or someone engaging in the behaviors discussed by Haidt, including labeling, magnification, catastrophizing, or emotional reasoning. How does this self-reflection help us become better critical thinkers and abet our role in the creation of a better society?

Operational Assignment Details:

Each journal entry should be a minimum of 300 words. Your journal entry narrative is subjective and can be written in the first person. Citations are not required, but the inclusion of the assigned reading articles is strongly encouraged. Be sure to proofread your entry and use the Grammarly app before posting.

Econ maps

1. Reserve them in your group.  You cannot write about a map or graphic another student has written about.

2. Describe the map or graphic and include the link (one to two paragraphs).

3. Tell why it caught your attention (one paragraph).

4. Relate it back to the textbook.  Specify the Chapter and section, and find at least two separate sections it relates (the section must be different – and letters do not designate separate sections) .  For each map/graphic use different book references (so you will need four separate book references total).

I’m trying to study for my Economics course and I need some help to understand this question.

The first several weeks of lectures attempt to provide a framework for analyzing the international system. As part of the process of writing the first exam for the course, you are to isolate what you believe are the primary historical and contemporary (post-1970) forces on the international system. Note there is no right or wrong answers to this essay examination. I am more interested in your ability to make an argument, supported by relevant readings, lectures and other materials. Given the limited space available, and more importantly, the attempt to have you hone your critical thinking skills (re prioritization) you should isolate only one factor in each of these historical periods. Given those factors, which of the theoretical perspectives we have discussed do you ascribe to? In order to have sufficient time to incorporate your classmates suggestions and complete the exam writing process in a timely manner, your (minimum) 250-word submission, must be posted by Friday, January 24, 2020 at 8pm Pacific Time. Your 100-word responses (which should focus on providing potential examples) to at least 3 of your classmates must be posted by Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 8pm PST.

Stephanie,

Thank you for resubmitting your paper so I could read it without bias. I did read the feedback after I finished with your paper and we did focus on similar areas. Please be sure to follow the specific suggestions your feedback tutor provided.

Your draft of the final analysis shows promise. Clarifying and honing your thesis statement is the first step in moving to improve your draft. Clearly following the pattern for essay writing – introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion – is crucial. Two academic sources are required to fulfill the requirements of this assignment as well. Please note my comments on your paper for additional suggestions.

One important issue is that many unique words and phrases you use are matches to a previously submitted student paper. I am not suggesting intentional plagiarism, but please take care to clearly cite any words or materials your used that were taken from another source. I have attached a copy of the TURNITN Originality Report for you to review.

Pat L.

Please note: The date on the feedback report is 4/26. I assume you submitted it 4/25. That would mean your paper was initially submitted one day late, necessitating a 10% deduction for a late submission. Please let me know if I am in error or if there were special circumstances requiring a late submission.

( 1.52 / 2.00) Analyze Literary Work(s) From the Approved List of Prompts

Basic – Provides a limited analysis of literary work(s) from the approved list of prompts and/or includes plot summary and/or personal reflection. The three key points from the proposal are minimally developed and vaguely supported by the analysis. Relevant details are underdeveloped.

Comments:

You have a promising start to your analysis here, though when you revise you might develop critical thought with more depth and detail. Your revision should also flesh out more fully the three key ideas you articulated in your proposal.

( 1.52 / 2.00) Thesis Statement

Basic – Thesis statement is present, and somewhat provides a direction and purpose to the essay.

Comments:

You have a working thesis here; however, it is quite vague and broad.  Take time to revise your thesis, narrow its focus, and include detail that articulates a clear, analytical direction.

( 2.28 / 3.00) Body Paragraphs and Topic Sentences

Basic – The body paragraphs contain general topic sentences that are minimally related to the thesis. Details are unclear.

Comments:

Your body paragraphs show a lot of promise. To improve them, remember to build your own original analysis from the quotes that you incorporated. Also, be sure that your topic sentences clearly state the main idea of each body paragraph. Otherwise, nice work!

( 1.52 / 2.00) Conclusion

Basic – The conclusion minimally reaffirms the thesis statement   and summarizes the direction and purpose of the essay; however, the conclusion is underdeveloped.

Comments:

While your conclusion is close to being complete, remember to continue developing its content before submitting your Final Paper. Aim to write at least seven to eight sentences so that your readers have a greater appreciation of your main argument.

( 1.28 / 2.00) Apply Literary Elements and Other Course Concepts

Below Expectations – Attempts to apply literary techniques and other course concepts to the primary source(s) to present an interpretation of the work(s); however, significant details are greatly underdeveloped.

Comments:

You do not incorporate literary techniques in your essay, which is required by the assignment. When you revise, be sure to select three techniques, describe them, and use them to help you interpret the literary work.

( 1.28 / 2.00) Incorporation of Research

Below Expectations – Incorporates very little research and does not include paraphrases or quotes from the primary and secondary sources The research is significantly underdeveloped.

Comments:

You have applied some of your research to your analysis, but can incorporate more scholarly source material in support of your thesis.  You can also incorporate examples from the literary work to help clarify your meaning.

( 0.38 / 0.50) Written Communication: Control of Syntax and Mechanics

Basic – Displays basic comprehension of syntax and mechanics, such as spelling and grammar. Written work contains a few errors which may slightly distract the reader.

Comments:

While your paper does not have many spelling and grammar errors, those that are present distract from your overall message. In the future, please make sure to check these elements before submitting your assignments.

Ideas cannot be communicated effectively if they are poorly written. The Ashford Writing Center offers resources to assist in developing writing skills.

( 0.38 / 0.50) Written Communication: APA Formatting

Basic – Exhibits limited knowledge of APA formatting throughout the paper. However, layout does not meet all APA requirements.

( 0.44 / 0.50) Written Communication: Page Requirement

Proficient – The length of the paper is nearly equivalent to the required number of correctly formatted pages.

( 0.32 / 0.50) Written Communication: Resource Requirement

Below Expectations – Uses an inadequate number of sources that provide little or no support for ideas. Sources used may not be scholarly. Most sources on the reference page are not used within the body of the assignment. Citations are not formatted correctly.

Overall Score: 10.92 / 15.00
