Narrative essay writing

Based on your pre-writing ideas, pick one of your topics and expand it into a draft.  Keep in mind that you have a clear thesis, have already planned out the steps in your story, and should have a good idea how each step ties back in with the thesis.  The essay should flow naturally from this structure (intro with thesis, point 1, 2, 3, conclusion) particularly because you can rely on chronology to plot out your points.  That is, of course, unless you are intentionally disrupting time to make a point in your story.  No need to create the next Inception but, if you’re up to the challenge, go for it!  Also, remember to get in the habit of either using the APA template from the “Start Here” section, getting handy making your own template, or ensuring that each submission you make has a proper title page, running head, and follows all APA guidelines.  Save your document as either a .doc or .docx (Word document) and upload it to this discussion board by attaching the document to your post.  Do this by Wednesday at 11:59 PM for half of your credit.

Choose any of this 2 topics for narrative essay writing.

1. Country of my dreams.

      Malaysia is a very unique and special country. It is located in South East Asia. The citizens are from different races and religions.

  • Malaysia is where everyone lives in a peaceful environment full of respect and admiration for each other. You will find temples next to mosques and churches next to temples.
  • Malaysia is a cultural hub and a colorful mixture of people from all parts of the world. Moreover, this place is ripe with entertainment and offers natural beauty, clean beaches and rainforests.
  • Malaysia is a country of beautiful, brochure-like Islands perfect for an idyllic and exotic getaway.

Because of its rich cultural background; Malaysians tend to be very open and welcoming to foreigners and make you feel at home right away.

2. Miracles in the everyday life.

Real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize. A blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black curious eyes of a child, our own two eyes. All is a miracle.

  • No matter where you live, you see the same moon as everyone else.
  • Random acts of kindness. A smile and connection with a stranger.
  • Friendship. Every day people are connecting, forming friendships, valuing friends they already have. We get to choose who we want to spend time with, what we talk about, and how we spend our time together.

There are miracles around us all the time. All we have to do is open our eyes and our minds to appreciate them.

Assume the following Keynesian income-expenditure two-sector model: AD = C p + I p C p = C o + c .

Assume the following Keynesian income-expenditure two-sector model:

                                                AD = Cp + Ip

                                                Cp = Co +  c .Y

                                                Ip = Io

where AD is aggregate demand; Cp is planned consumption; Ip is planned investment; Co is exogenous consumption; c is the marginal propensity to consume; Y is the level of income (and output); and Io is exogenous investment.

(a)   What is the relationship between the ‘marginal propensity to consume’ and the ‘average propensity to consume’?

(b) What is equilibrium Y in terms of Co, c and Io?

(c)   Derive the multiplier for a change in Io.

(d) What does this model assume about aggregate supply and the general price level?

(e)   Represent this model in a 45◦ cross-diagram and illustrate the equilibrium level of income.

Q.When working with GDP data, economists are using the market value of aggregate output in order to facilitate comparisons across years rather than just the amount of output itself (e.g. the value of refridgerators and apples produced rather than the quantities). Why is that–what problem does this address? This solution of using values is not a perfect solution. What new issues arise when we try to compare market values of aggregate output across time periods. How do macroeconomists attempt to address this issue? (150words)

When we calculate GDP we do not include intermediate goods. We also leave out things like securities (stocks and bonds) and we leave out used goods. Would it be more or less accurate for economists to include some or all of these? Explain what issues arise in each of these three cases if they were to be included in our measure of GDP.

Exercise: Executive Summary/Abstract Analysis

Need help with my Communications question – I’m studying for my class.

assignment-icons-content.png EXERCISE

Executive summaries and abstracts do more than simply summarize the main points of your report. As the first section of the report that your readers will see, they play an important role in the achievement of your report’s purpose. The executive summary/abstract should communicate the information and/or research that is most likely to convince your audience that they should read your report, so the information you include in this opening section should be very thoughtfully chosen.

To help you write an effective executive summary or abstract, read the following articles, then find an executive summary or abstract to analyze based on what you’ve learned.

Readings

The Activity

Using Google, find two reports that include an executive summaries/abstracts. Reading only the executive summaries/abstracts, answer the following questions:

  1. Can you identify the report’s purpose or goal?
  2. Do you get a sense of audience? Who is this report for?
  3. What report content/sections are included in the abstract? Do you get the sense that this information is important?
  4. What research is included in the report? Does the research included give you the sense that the report is well-researched, credible and/or thorough?
  5. Does the executive summary/abstract convince you that reading the report would be worth your time? Why? Why not?

Finally, compare the two summaries you analyzed. What are the similarities and differences? What does each do well? What could be improved?
