Do Our Words Match Our Actions

I’m working on a Writing exercise and need support.

Getting Started

Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at this face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.James 1:22-27

This passage of scripture from James offers us a lot to digest. James talks about several things, including what it means to truly listen and hear what scripture is saying to us, the freedom in following God’s Word and the blessing that comes with it, our false ideas of religion and what the Lord accepts as pure, along with a strong charge for believers in Christ to care for the orphans and widows and to remain separated from the sin in the world.

Everyone has been guilty at one time or another of saying one thing with our words and then demonstrating different behavior after those words are spoken. We don’t like to admit that we participate in this cycle of behavior, but like James says, we deceive ourselves if we hear the Word of God and do not put it into practice.

As long as we live on Earth, we will be subject to sin and to its many deceits, whether we are using our words to falsely impress others, acting overly pious and religious to place ourselves above others, or whether we use our words to hurt and slander while proclaiming to be believers in Christ.

All of these behaviors, James says, are sinful and foolish. May we all take the time to consider our actions as individuals and as professionals in our field. Do our words match our actions? Does it matter? Is God pleased with our conduct? Are we engaging with one another in truth?

Upon successful completion of this discussion, you will be able to:

  • Apply ethical, Christ-like attitudes, values, and worldview appropriate to mezzo social work practice. (PO 1)

  1. Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
  2. Navigate to the threaded discussion and respond to the following discussion questions:
    1. As you take time to reflect on where you are on your own spiritual journey, can you identify with any of the themes James offers in this passage?
    2. Can you think of a time when you observed someone speak in one way and behave in another? What did that make you feel towards that person?
    3. How does this passage challenge you both personally and professionally today?

Let’s take just a moment and think about the process so far. Feel free to use this writing as a reflection upon what you have experienced so far in the course. You might want to consider some of the questions below, but you are not required to answer them. Remember, as always, that this discussion should be a positive and constructive experience for everyone. The idea is that you reflect upon the process so that you understand it, understand yourself as a new student writer, and understand the challenges and successes you experience.

What do you think is your strongest point? What do you think is your weakest? Do you think the scope of your project is narrowed down efficiently? How are you feeling about the process? What do you think about the structure of the body paragraphs? Does the structure seem too restrictive or helpful and guiding? Looking back on some of the materials that you have read, can you see the structures that we have discussed in the course so far? Do you see differences between academic and public sources in terms of how the paragraphs are constructed?

PLEASE REPLY TO MY CLASSMATE RESPONSE TO THE ABOVE QUESTIONS AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU AGREE? (A MINIMUM OF 125 WORDS)

                                   CLASSMATE’S RESPONSE

My strongest point in the work is identifying material that covers the subject comprehensively. I have been able to identify academic journal articles that support the issue of standardized testing and the different areas of the topic covered. The fact that the issue of standardized testing has been debated for a long time helps in finding the right material.  My weakest point has been following the instructions on sentences. At times, I find myself providing evidence in the first sentence instead of simply introducing the topic to be discussed in that paragraph.

I feel the scope of the project is narrow in a manner that allows one to follow a given line of thought. It comprises of enough guidelines to ensure that the work is confined to the issue of standardized testing in America. The topic prompt also helped to specify the issues to be discussed in the rest of the project. Though the process is a bit restrictive, it has been effective in ensuring that my thought process is ordered.

The sentence guides have also ensured that we cover every part of a topic sentence. At every juncture, I have been able to analyse and see whether I have sufficiently addressed all the points required for every part. The structure is helpful in guiding the writing and producing work that is comprehensive. After getting the right content, the guide ensures that such content is organized in a logical manner.  As far as the difference between public and academic sources, most of the academic policy papers provide a structure where after introducing the topic, they summarize the evidence present about the topic. After that, they provide a concluding sentence that prepares one for the next paragraph. However, public sources do not necessarily provide evidence and are rather persuasive and written through a subjective lens.

ECE 543, Introduction to DigitalSystems. Do a pre-lab “carefully”.

I’m studying for my Computer Science class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?

Hi, everyone. You can call me Jason. It’s a simple job but one that requires patience and time. I need a very careful and patient person to be competent for this job. Please complete a pre-lab analysis report according to the guidelines I uploaded. The first is the “instruction of this lab“, and the next are pre-lab diagram requirements, lab requirements, some notes, and the pre-lab sample. Based on these files, please browse and complete the pre-lab carefully. More importantly, if you have something you uncertain or do not understand, please consult with me “in time”. In this way, the quality of the final work can be better guaranteed. Glad to cooperate with you.

Unit III PowerPoint Presentation Open

Instructions

For decades, relational databases remained essentially unchanged; data was segmented into specific chunks for columns, slots, and repositories, also called structured data. However, in this Internet of Things (IoT) era, databases need to be reengineered because the very nature of data has changed. Today’s databases need to be developed with the needs of IoT in mind and have the ability to perform real-time processing to manage workloads that are dynamic. For example, relational databases should be able to work with real-time data streaming and big data (an example was presented in the Unit III Lesson).

Scenario: Falcon Security wants their customers to be able to view security video footage in real-time and provide customers with the ability to query video footage for viewing. Choosing a database solution such as MongoDB would allow Falcon Security to store customer video footage in the same database as the metadata.

To do this, Falcon Security needs a way to manage the demands of real-time data streaming for real-time analytics. Conduct some research for a NoSQL database application, such as MongoDB or Cassandra, that could meet this need. How would switching to a real-time database solution help Falcon Security remain competitive? Create a PowerPoint presentation that includes the components listed below.

  • Provide a brief introduction to IoT.
  • Present the argument to the Falcon Security CEO that switching to a more dynamic database structure (NoSQL real-time database) will meet the demands of IoT.
  • Introduce some features of the database you chose, whether it is MongoDB, Cassandra, or another database.
  • Describe how switching to a more dynamic database will give Falcon Security a competitive advantage.

Your presentation must be a minimum of six slides in length (not counting the title and reference slides), and you must use at least two academic resources. Any information from a resource used must be cited and referenced in APA format.

Promotion and Pricing Strategies

I’m stuck on a Business question and need an explanation.

Submit Assignment 3

Assignment 3: Promotion and Pricing Strategies

Due Week 8 and worth 135 points

“Entrepreneurs must determine what to sell, to whom and how often, on what terms and at what price, and how to get the product or service to the customer. In short, a marketing plan identifies a company’s target customers and describes how it will attract and keep them. The process does not have to be complex.” (Scarborough & Cornwall, 2015, p. 274).

With this assignment, you will address some of the basic areas within a marketing plan and help to refine your strategies for creating a successful business.

Using the business from Assignment 2, write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:

  1. Identify its primary target market.
  2. Specify three (3) methods you will use to research customer needs and wants.
  3. Describe the marketing mix: a) product, b) pricing strategy, c) promotion, and d) placement/distribution.
  4. Create a one-year advertising budget and plan that incorporates the use of various advertising media and publicity.
  5. Include at least two (2) references outside the textbook.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • This course requires use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The format may be different than other Strayer University courses. Please take a moment to review the SWS documentation for details (more information and an example is included in the Strayer Writing Standards left menu link).
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Describe and analyze the necessary activities and key decisions to start a small business.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in small business management.
  • Write clearly and concisely about small business management using proper writing mechanics.

Watch the above video. Once you have done this click on the above link “Unintended Consequences” and create a thread with at least two paragraphs containing the following:

Describe how helmet laws and medicine safety caps could follow the adage “good intentions, bad results”.

Consider the potential unintended consequences of installing a traffic signal at an intersection in a school zone? Can you make a case for not installing the signal?

QUESTION 2 – PRE -TRIAL BARGAINING (from final exam, Fall 2007) An accident has occurred, causing $10,000 in harm to the victim.

PRE

-TRIAL BARGAINING

(from final exam, Fall 2007)

An accident has occurred, causing $10,000 in harm to the victim. The amount of harm done is undisputed

and easy to prove; punitive damages

are not applicable, so any damage award would be for exactly

$10,000.

This type of accident is governed by strict liability, so the injurer is legally responsible, but it may be

difficult to prove in court that he caused the harm. The victim can hire a lawyer for $3,000 and go to trial,

in which case he would have a 40% chance of winning. He could also hire an expert witness to testify.

This would ensure victory at trial, but would cost an additional

$10,000, for a total of $13,000. Going to

trial cos

ts the defendant (injurer) $5,000, regardless of whether the plaintiff (victim) hires an expert

witness. Assume that neither party pays any legal expenses if an out

-of-court settlement is reached.

First, consider the usual

American rule

where each party

pays its own legal fees.

(a)

If the case goes to trial,

will the plaintiff hire an expert witness

or not?

(b)

Given your answer to (a), calculate

i.

each party’s

threat point

during pre

-trial negotiations (which is its noncooperative

payoff if the case goes to tri

al)

ii.

the

gains from cooperation

if a pre

-trial settlement is reached

iii.

the

settlement

that would occur if the two parties agreed to

divide the gains from

cooperation evenly

(c)

In this scenario, would the American rule lead to

over

-, under

-, or efficient precaut

ion

on the

part of the injurer?

Next, consider the usual

British rule

where the losing pa

rty pays both sides’ legal fees (including the cost

of the expert witness, if he was hired).

(d)

If the case goes to trial, will the plaintiff hire an expert witness?

(e)

Given your answer to (d), answer the same three questions as before: calculate

i.

each party’s

threat point

ii.

the

gains from cooperation

iii.

the

settlement

that would occur if gains from cooperation were divided evenly

(f)

In this scenario, would the British rule lead

to

over

-, under

-, or efficient precaution

on the part

of the injurer?

Finally, consider the following

cost

-shifting rule

, similar in spirit to Federal Rule 68. If the case goes to

trial and no damages are awarded, each side pays its own expenses. If damages are awarded and are

lower than a settlement offer the plaintiff (victim) refused, the plaintiff pays both sides’ expenses. If

damages are higher than a settlement offer the defendant (injurer) refused, the defendant pays both sides’

expenses.

(g)

What will happen if the case goes to trial

after the

defendant offers to settle for $10,001

? Is the

plaintiff better off accepting this offer or going to trial?

(h)

What will happen if the case goes to trial

after the plaintiff offers to settle for $9,999

? Is th

e

defendant better off accepting this offer or going to trial?

(i)

What do you expect to happen in pre

-trial negotiations?

(j)

In this scenario, would this cost

-shifting rule lead to

over

-, under

-, or efficient precaution

on

the part of the injurer?

Using the Six Steps of Decision-Making framework from this week’s content, please develop an essay responding to the following questions related to the case study The Ethics of Global Drug Pricing.

I’m stuck on a Management question and need an explanation.

Module 02: Critical Thinking

Critical Thinking Case Study: The Ethics of Global Drug Pricing (100 Points)

Using the Six Steps of Decision-Making framework from this week’s content, please develop an essay responding to the following questions related to the case study The Ethics of Global Drug Pricing.

  1. Recognize decision requirement: What are the ethical issues being discussed in the case concerning drug pricing?
  2. Diagnosis and analysis of causes: Why are drug prices so high in the United States and what should be done?
  3. Development of alternatives: What are other countries doing to fight high drug prices?
  4. Selection of desired alternative: Decide on alternatives for the United States.
  5. Implementation of alternatives: Which alternatives would be best to drive down drug prices in the United States?
  6. Evaluation and feedback: Have your recommendations been implemented in other countries? Are they working? What has been the outcome?

In this course you will have six Critical Thinking assignments where you will respond to assignment questions to develop an essay. Essays have an introduction (to the topic of the assignment), a body (where you will integrate your responses) and a conclusion (your thoughts on the assignment). Please do not just answer the questions as is. It is best to use APA headings to capture the essence of the questions as a way to make sure you have integrated all of the responses in your essay. Also, make sure you are using an APA paper template as a starting point.

Your well-written essay should meet the following requirements:

  • Be 5-6 pages in length, which does not include the title page, abstract, or required reference page, which are never a part of the content minimum requirements.
  • Use Saudi Electronic University academic writing standards and APA style guidelines.
  • Support your submission with course material concepts, principles, and theories from the textbook and at least two scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles.
  • Review the grading rubric to see how you will be graded for this assignment.
