Do an Internet search using the terms “Judge Mark Ciavarella.”
After reviewing the material you have found, prepare a 4- to 6-page report in Microsoft Word that addresses the following points:
- Summarize the facts of the case. Describe what the Judge was convicted of and the current disposition of his case.
- Discuss whether officials from the correctional facilities have faced charges and assess their culpability.
- Explain how this system of corruption was allowed to operate for as long as it did. Why was this crime not discovered much sooner?
- Analyze the impact of this case on the Pennsylvania juvenile justice system overall, as well as on the defendants sentenced by Judge Ciavarella.
